Why does your software show up as a trojan in my virus scanner?

Much of my software uses routines to download files from the internet or may contain links to adult related content, this makes many virus checkers nervous and in some cases wrongly identify it as a trojan downloader, it simply exposes virus and malware scanners inability to differentiate between harmful download tasks and perfectly legitimate ones. I also compress my software using UPX Executable Compressor (its superb) unfortunately this tends to make virus scanners heuristic engines have a panic attack (also emphasizing the unreliability of using heuristics), turn your heuristic levels down or even off altogether)

If your paranoid about running programs you find you the internet (and I can't blame you) I cannot recommend highly enough that you install SandBoxie

Once installed you can run any program you like in a sandbox (a virtual environment) where the program is fooled into thinking it has access to your computer, you can install, run, and remove software without the slightest trace it had ever been on your computer, no registry keys are changes and its not possible for it to alter or save any files on your hard drive outside its own sandbox. Surf the web in a sandbox, you can install as many crappy toolbars as you want and as soon as you close the sandbox its all gone without the slightest trace it ever happened.

SandBoxie is SUPERB, ten times better and safer than any virus checker.
